Cheryl Allcock (Zak) earned her Bachelors in Social Science Welfare at The Ohio State University, studied Pre Law at Oxford University, College of Summerville and earned her Masters in Social Work from The Ohio State University. Cheryl, whose 20 years as a clinician and educator, has produced extraordinary results for families whose children were not excelling at other private or public schools. Ms. Allcock’s educational methodology inspires, motivates and engages these students and allows them to achieve results that were in many cases unthinkable to their families and even to the students themselves. Cheryl recently received the 2016 Community Leadership award from the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition, May 2016 for the Zombie accomplishments. (One of only 50 awards given in the United States each year.) Ms. Allcock surrounds herself with other likeminded educators who support and enhance her vision of educating those students whose learning styles and abilities are not recognized by other schools as assets.
John is a nationally recognized expert on mindfulness, particularly in the context of education.

He is a certified mindfulness instructor and has been the principal architect of the innovative mindfulness program at Sea Change Prep, using the proven Mindful Schools curriculum for guidance.
John mindfulness journey has spanned two decades. He has been a frequent participant at week-long mindfulness training sessions at Spirit Rock Meditation Center (many with Jack Kornfield) and at Plum Village (Thich Nhat Hahn’s mediation center in France), and has attended well over a thousand hours of lectures offered by Spirit Rock and the Insight Mediation Center in Redwood City (many by Gil Fronsdal).
John graduated from Boston College (with highest honors in philosophy and political science) and Harvard Law School (cum laude). He has been a practicing trial lawyer at DLA Piper since 1981, where he specializes in the trial of complex patent cases. He has chaired the U.S. Intellectual Property Group for the last 15 plus years as well as Global Co-Chair of the firm’s 500-lawyer international practice. He has also served on the firm’s Executive Committee.
